1 · What the graph read from it

What it found

Each row is one number read from the abstract, on the scale the paper reported it, with its interval. Left of the dashed line favours the treatment, right favours the comparator. Under each row is the sentence it came from. New to these charts? A ten-minute tutorial.

The abstract states no effect estimate the extractor could read, or names no intervention and outcome on the map, so this paper lights no cell and moves no belief. It is still indexed, cited and linked below.

2 · The registry

The trial behind it

Trials whose registry record cites this paper, or whose number appears in the abstract. A trial that started after this paper was published is citing it as background, not reporting it.

Neither the registry nor the abstract names a trial number. If this is a trial report, that itself is worth knowing.

Abstract

Objective: The effects of mind map-guided 5E rehabilitation nursing on patients with ischemic stroke after carotid artery stenting (CAS) are to be evaluated. Methods: This retrospective study included 71 patients receiving conventional care (January-December 2023, Control group) and 73 patients receiving the new nursing model (January-December 2024, Observation group). Baseline data were compared at admission, and outcome measures were assessed at one month postoperatively. This included the following: the National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS), the Fugl-Meyer Assessment (FMA), the Montreal Cognitive Assessment (MoCA), the Chinese Mini Mental Status (CMMS), the Barthel Index, the Hospital Anxiety and Depression Scale (HADS), the relative mean transit time (rMTT), the relative cerebral blood volume (rCBV), and the relative cerebral blood flow (rCBF). Hospital stay, compliance, and complications were also considered. Results: At one month postoperatively, the NIHSS, HADS, and rMTT of the observation group were lower than those of the control group (all Conclusion: Mind map-guided 5E rehabilitation nursing shows promise in improving short-term recovery outcomes in post-CAS stroke patients. Further prospective validation is needed.
