Platelet indices as prognostic markers of vascular complications in type-2 diabetes mellitus.
Article in Bioinformation, 2026. The graph could read no effect estimate from its abstract, so it casts no vote on the map. Not yet cited in PubMed.
What it found
Each row is one number read from the abstract, on the scale the paper reported it, with its interval. Left of the dashed line favours the treatment, right favours the comparator. Under each row is the sentence it came from. New to these charts? A ten-minute tutorial.
The abstract states no effect estimate the extractor could read, or names no intervention and outcome on the map, so this paper lights no cell and moves no belief. It is still indexed, cited and linked below.
The trial behind it
Trials whose registry record cites this paper, or whose number appears in the abstract. A trial that started after this paper was published is citing it as background, not reporting it.
Neither the registry nor the abstract names a trial number. If this is a trial report, that itself is worth knowing.

Abstract
With its rising incidence and substantial risk of microvascular and macrovascular consequences, diabetes mellitus (DM) is a serious health concern of global magnitude. Therefore, it is of interest to determine the distribution of platelet indices in type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) patients with and without vascular complications and assess their potential as predictive biomarkers. The cross-sectional study was undertaken over 18 months, which included 107 diagnosed T2DM patients and 69 age and gender-matched healthy controls. Platelet count and MPV were significantly altered in diabetics, especially among those with complications, whereas PDW showed no significant difference and logistic regression displayed a significant correlation of abnormal platelet count (Adjusted OR: 2.95, 95% CI: 1.23-7.06; p=0.015) and MPV (Adjusted OR: 0.31, 95% CI: 0.10-0.92; p=0.036) with vascular complications. Platelet count and MPV are promising, economical biomarkers for the early prediction of vascular complications in T2DM patients and their frequent monitoring may lead to early disease detection, timely anagement and better clinical outcomes.
