Modification and validation of the Padua prediction score for assessing the risk of venous thromboembolism in medical inpatients: a case-control study.
Article in Clinics (Sao Paulo, Brazil), 2026. The graph could read no effect estimate from its abstract, so it casts no vote on the map. Not yet cited in PubMed.
What it found
Each row is one number read from the abstract, on the scale the paper reported it, with its interval. Left of the dashed line favours the treatment, right favours the comparator. Under each row is the sentence it came from. New to these charts? A ten-minute tutorial.
The abstract states no effect estimate the extractor could read, or names no intervention and outcome on the map, so this paper lights no cell and moves no belief. It is still indexed, cited and linked below.
The trial behind it
Trials whose registry record cites this paper, or whose number appears in the abstract. A trial that started after this paper was published is citing it as background, not reporting it.
Neither the registry nor the abstract names a trial number. If this is a trial report, that itself is worth knowing.

Abstract
aimTo modify and validate the Padua prediction score in Chinese medical inpatients.
designA case-control study.
methodsThe clinical data of 663 Chinese internal medicine inpatients provided the basis for optimizing the model. Independent risk factors for Venous Thromboembolism (VTE) were analyzed by multifactorial logistic regression, and a modified risk assessment model was designed. Then 414 patients were selected as the external validation group, and the Receiver Operating Characteristic (ROC) and the McNemar test were used to assess the clinical applicability and discriminative power of the score.
resultsObesity (body mass index ≥ 25 kg/m
conclusionThe Padua score with the proposed modifications was more effective in predicting the risk of venous thromboembolism in hospitalized Chinese individuals. LIMITATION: This study was based a limited number of cases and only proposed minor adjustments to the established scoring system.
