1 · What the graph read from it

What it found

Each row is one number read from the abstract, on the scale the paper reported it, with its interval. Left of the dashed line favours the treatment, right favours the comparator. Under each row is the sentence it came from. New to these charts? A ten-minute tutorial.

The abstract states no effect estimate the extractor could read, or names no intervention and outcome on the map, so this paper lights no cell and moves no belief. It is still indexed, cited and linked below.

2 · The registry

The trial behind it

Trials whose registry record cites this paper, or whose number appears in the abstract. A trial that started after this paper was published is citing it as background, not reporting it.

Neither the registry nor the abstract names a trial number. If this is a trial report, that itself is worth knowing.

Abstract

Pediatric cases of chronic osteomyelitis that remain asymptomatic for a prolonged period before becoming clinically evident are exceedingly rare. We report a rare case of pediatric chronic osteomyelitis of the left radius, which became clinically evident 1.5 years after an episode of left forearm cellulitis at the same anatomical site in a three-year-nine-month-old girl. The patient presented with fever, left wrist pain, and difficulty in flexing her left fingers. Plain radiography and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) revealed osteolytic lesions spanning the distal radial metaphysis and epiphyseal nucleus across the epiphyseal line, consistent with a chronic disease course. She underwent emergency surgical debridement and lavage of the radius. Blood culture results revealed methicillin-susceptible
