1 · What the graph read from it

What it found

Each row is one number read from the abstract, on the scale the paper reported it, with its interval. Left of the dashed line favours the treatment, right favours the comparator. Under each row is the sentence it came from. New to these charts? A ten-minute tutorial.

The abstract states no effect estimate the extractor could read, or names no intervention and outcome on the map, so this paper lights no cell and moves no belief. It is still indexed, cited and linked below.

2 · The registry

The trial behind it

Trials whose registry record cites this paper, or whose number appears in the abstract. A trial that started after this paper was published is citing it as background, not reporting it.

Neither the registry nor the abstract names a trial number. If this is a trial report, that itself is worth knowing.

Abstract

Introduction: A global rise in population and excessive consumption of dietary sugars present major environmental and public health challenges. The World Health Organization (WHO) recommends limiting free sugar consumption to less than 5% of total caloric intake for maximum health benefits. Substituting added sugar with low- or no-calorie sweeteners offers a viable alternative to achieve this target. Thaumatin II is a natural, non-caloric, high-intensity sweet-tasting protein, traditionally extracted as a mixture of up to 5 thaumatins from the fruit of Methods: This study presents a techno-economic analysis for the large-scale recombinant production of Thaumatin II using transgenic Results: While the market benchmark price for the commercial extract (Talin Discussion: This study indicates that production of Thaumatin II in bioengineered plants can deliver significant economic and environmental advantages compared to traditional sweeteners and
