Bilateral Lower Lip Swelling as an Early Manifestation of Crohn's Disease in a 16-Year-Old Patient: A Case Report.
Article in Case reports in dentistry, 2026. The graph could read no effect estimate from its abstract, so it casts no vote on the map. Cited by 1 paper.
What it found
Each row is one number read from the abstract, on the scale the paper reported it, with its interval. Left of the dashed line favours the treatment, right favours the comparator. Under each row is the sentence it came from. New to these charts? A ten-minute tutorial.
The abstract states no effect estimate the extractor could read, or names no intervention and outcome on the map, so this paper lights no cell and moves no belief. It is still indexed, cited and linked below.
The trial behind it
Trials whose registry record cites this paper, or whose number appears in the abstract. A trial that started after this paper was published is citing it as background, not reporting it.
Neither the registry nor the abstract names a trial number. If this is a trial report, that itself is worth knowing.

Abstract
Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis are chronic inflammatory bowel diseases that are often diagnosed with a significant delay. Although Crohn's disease can affect the entire gastrointestinal tract-from the mouth to the anus-ulcerative colitis is limited to the colon and rectum. This report describes the case of a 16-year-old male patient who suffered from a painless, bilateral swelling of the lower lip persisting for 4 months. Elevated fecal calprotectin (510 mg/kg) and subsequent endoscopic examination confirmed the diagnosis of Crohn's disease. Immunosuppressive therapy led to full resolution of the lip swelling and overall clinical improvement. Oral manifestations such as ulcers, gingivitis, and angular cheilitis can be the first signs of a systemic disease, such as Crohn's disease in this case, and therefore provide an opportunity for early detection by general dentists.
