A Real-World Cohort Study on the Association of the Use of Sodium-Glucose Cotransporter-2 Inhibitor With the Incidence of Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD) in Patients With Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus Without CKD Using the SingHealth Diabetes Registry.
Article in Diabetes, obesity & metabolism, 2026. The graph could read no effect estimate from its abstract, so it casts no vote on the map. Cited by 1 paper.
What it found
Each row is one number read from the abstract, on the scale the paper reported it, with its interval. Left of the dashed line favours the treatment, right favours the comparator. Under each row is the sentence it came from. New to these charts? A ten-minute tutorial.
The abstract states no effect estimate the extractor could read, or names no intervention and outcome on the map, so this paper lights no cell and moves no belief. It is still indexed, cited and linked below.
The trial behind it
Trials whose registry record cites this paper, or whose number appears in the abstract. A trial that started after this paper was published is citing it as background, not reporting it.
Neither the registry nor the abstract names a trial number. If this is a trial report, that itself is worth knowing.

Abstract
backgroundSodium-glucose cotransporter-2 inhibitors (SGLT2i) are well-established for slowing chronic kidney disease (CKD) progression. However, their role in reducing the incidence of CKD in individuals with diabetes mellitus remains unclear.
objectivesWe evaluate the association of SGLT2i use with CKD incidence in a pre-CKD multi-ethnic Asian population with type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2D) with no CKD. MATERIALS AND
methodsThis retrospective cohort study analysed patients with T2D from 2016 to 2023 using the SingHealth Diabetes Registry. Patients with baseline estimated glomerular filtration rate (eGFR) ≥ 60 mL/min/1.73 m
resultsOf 21 780 patients, 4450 patients (2225/group) were analysed after PSM. Median baseline eGFR were 103.58 mL/min/1.73 m
conclusionSGLT2i use in individuals with T2D and preserved renal function was associated with lower CKD incidence, suggesting its potential preventive role in non-CKD population.
