1 · What the graph read from it

What it found

Each row is one number read from the abstract, on the scale the paper reported it, with its interval. Left of the dashed line favours the treatment, right favours the comparator. Under each row is the sentence it came from. New to these charts? A ten-minute tutorial.

The abstract states no effect estimate the extractor could read, or names no intervention and outcome on the map, so this paper lights no cell and moves no belief. It is still indexed, cited and linked below.

2 · The registry

The trial behind it

Trials whose registry record cites this paper, or whose number appears in the abstract. A trial that started after this paper was published is citing it as background, not reporting it.

Neither the registry nor the abstract names a trial number. If this is a trial report, that itself is worth knowing.

Abstract

objectiveThis study aimed to investigate the effects of inpatient environmental noise management combined with meditation and pranayama nursing on nocturnal blood pressure and sleep quality in patients with post-stroke sequelae of the liver-yang hyperactivity type.

methodsThis retrospective cohort study included 200 patients with post-stroke sequelae of the liver-yang hyperactivity type who were hospitalized in the Department of Neurology at Qingdao Municipal Hospital from June 2022 to March 2025. Patients were divided into a conventional nursing group and a combined nursing group according to different nursing protocols. The conventional nursing group received routine integrated traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) and Western medicine nursing, and the combined nursing group received inpatient environmental noise management combined with mindful breathing regulation on this basis, and the nursing was carried out for 4 weeks. Blood pressure, sleep quality, emotional regulation scores, psychological stability scores, and environmental satisfaction scores were compared between the two groups of patients before and after nursing.

resultsBefore nursing, no significant differences in baseline data were observed between the two groups ( P > 0.05). After 4 weeks of nursing, the systolic blood pressure (SBP) and diastolic blood pressure (DBP) decreased significantly in both groups. Nocturnal SBP, DBP, and Pittsburgh sleep quality index (PSQI) scores in the combined nursing group were significantly lower than those in the conventional nursing group ( P < 0.05); after nursing, the cognitive dimension of the combined nursing group was significantly higher than that of the usual nursing group, and the expression inhibition dimension score was significantly lower than that of the usual nursing group ( P < 0.05); after nursing, the total Sleep Environment Satisfaction Scale score of the combined nursing group was significantly higher than that of the conventional nursing group ( P < 0.05).

conclusionNoise management combined with meditative pranayama is associated with improvements in nocturnal blood pressure and sleep quality in patients with post-stroke sequelae of the liver-yang hyperactivity type, promoting emotional adjustment and mental stability, improving hospitalization comfort and environmental satisfaction, and demonstrating good clinical application value.
