Alterations in Metabolites Associated With Umbilical Cord Blood in Monozygotic Twins Discordant for Congenital Heart Disease.
Article in Pediatric discovery, 2026. The graph could read no effect estimate from its abstract, so it casts no vote on the map. Not yet cited in PubMed.
What it found
Each row is one number read from the abstract, on the scale the paper reported it, with its interval. Left of the dashed line favours the treatment, right favours the comparator. Under each row is the sentence it came from. New to these charts? A ten-minute tutorial.
The abstract states no effect estimate the extractor could read, or names no intervention and outcome on the map, so this paper lights no cell and moves no belief. It is still indexed, cited and linked below.
The trial behind it
Trials whose registry record cites this paper, or whose number appears in the abstract. A trial that started after this paper was published is citing it as background, not reporting it.
Neither the registry nor the abstract names a trial number. If this is a trial report, that itself is worth knowing.

Abstract
The specific mechanisms and screening methods for congenital heart disease (CHD) remain elusive. Evidence indicates that aberrant maternal metabolomic profiles are associated with CHD, but it is uncertain whether such an association exists in umbilical cord blood. This study aimed to measure the metabolome shifts in monozygotic (MZ) twins discordant for CHD and, if present, identify the altered metabolites and metabolic pathways. Umbilical cord blood from three pairs of MZ twins discordant for CHD, identified through the prospective, population-based longitudinal twin study (LoTiS), was subjected to ultrahigh-performance liquid chromatography coupled with mass spectrometry (UHPLC-MS/MS) based metabolomic analysis. Orthogonal partial least square-discriminate analysis (OPLS-DA) and random forest (RF) analysis were used to determine differences in metabolic profiles and individual metabolites. In univariate analysis, two specific metabolites were identified in the umbilical cord blood of CHD cases compared to their MZ twins without complications. After the paired-sample
