Identification and validation of prognostic genes related to mitochondrial dynamics and mitochondrial autophagy in esophageal squamous cell carcinoma.
Article in Journal of thoracic disease, 2026. The graph could read no effect estimate from its abstract, so it casts no vote on the map. Not yet cited in PubMed.
What it found
Each row is one number read from the abstract, on the scale the paper reported it, with its interval. Left of the dashed line favours the treatment, right favours the comparator. Under each row is the sentence it came from. New to these charts? A ten-minute tutorial.
The abstract states no effect estimate the extractor could read, or names no intervention and outcome on the map, so this paper lights no cell and moves no belief. It is still indexed, cited and linked below.
The trial behind it
Trials whose registry record cites this paper, or whose number appears in the abstract. A trial that started after this paper was published is citing it as background, not reporting it.
Neither the registry nor the abstract names a trial number. If this is a trial report, that itself is worth knowing.

Abstract
Background: Mitochondrial dynamics and autophagy are associated with esophageal squamous cell carcinoma (ESCC) progression, but their combined mechanisms are unclear. This study aimed to evaluate the prognostic significance of mitochondrial dynamics-related genes (MDRGs) and mitochondrial autophagy-related genes (MARGs) in ESCC by constructing a risk model. Methods: Sequencing data were sourced from public databases, and differentially expressed genes (DEGs) were identified through differential expression analysis. The MDRGs and MARGs significantly associated with patient survival were identified by univariate Cox analysis and single-sample gene set enrichment analysis (ssGSEA). Key module genes were identified by weighted gene co-expression network analysis (WGCNA), and candidate genes were selected by intersecting the DEGs and key module genes. Results: In total, 325 candidate genes associated with pathways such as N-glycan biosynthesis were identified. Four prognostic genes [Myb-binding protein 1A ( Conclusions: This study identified four prognostic genes and constructed a predictive risk model that provides valuable insights for the clinical prognosis and immunotherapy of ESCC.
