Efficacy of regorafenib in the treatment of advanced hepatocellular carcinoma: A systematic review and meta-analysis.
Article in World journal of gastrointestinal oncology, 2026. The graph could read no effect estimate from its abstract, so it casts no vote on the map. Not yet cited in PubMed.
What it found
Each row is one number read from the abstract, on the scale the paper reported it, with its interval. Left of the dashed line favours the treatment, right favours the comparator. Under each row is the sentence it came from. New to these charts? A ten-minute tutorial.
The abstract states no effect estimate the extractor could read, or names no intervention and outcome on the map, so this paper lights no cell and moves no belief. It is still indexed, cited and linked below.
The trial behind it
Trials whose registry record cites this paper, or whose number appears in the abstract. A trial that started after this paper was published is citing it as background, not reporting it.
Neither the registry nor the abstract names a trial number. If this is a trial report, that itself is worth knowing.

Abstract
backgroundRegorafenib is approved as a second-line treatment for advanced hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC), but its comparative efficacy remains under evaluation.
aimTo evaluate the efficacy and safety of regorafenib
methodsThis systematic review and meta-analysis were conducted in accordance with PRISMA guidelines. A comprehensive search of PubMed, EMBASE, Web of Science, and the Cochrane Library was performed on June 6, 2025. Studies were included if they reported at least one relevant clinical outcome: Overall survival, progression-free survival, objective response rate, or disease control rate. Data was extracted independently by two reviewers. Quality was assessed using the Cochrane Risk of Bias 2.0 tool for randomized controlled trials and the Newcastle-Ottawa Scale for cohort studies. Pooled effect estimates were calculated using random- or fixed-effects models depending on the degree of heterogeneity. Sensitivity analyses and Egger's test were performed to evaluate the robustness of the results and potential publication bias.
resultsNine studies met inclusion criteria. Regorafenib significantly improved overall survival compared to controls [weighted mean difference = 2.54 months; 95% confidence interval (CI): 0.26-4.81;
conclusionRegorafenib offers a survival advantage in advanced HCC but does not significantly improve tumor response rates compared to alternative therapies.
