Association between cardiovascular parameters (blood pressure, heart rate, and heart rate reserve) and physical activity level in school-aged adolescents in Marrakech region, Morocco.
Article in Journal of education and health promotion, 2025. The graph could read no effect estimate from its abstract, so it casts no vote on the map. Not yet cited in PubMed.
What it found
Each row is one number read from the abstract, on the scale the paper reported it, with its interval. Left of the dashed line favours the treatment, right favours the comparator. Under each row is the sentence it came from. New to these charts? A ten-minute tutorial.
The abstract states no effect estimate the extractor could read, or names no intervention and outcome on the map, so this paper lights no cell and moves no belief. It is still indexed, cited and linked below.
The trial behind it
Trials whose registry record cites this paper, or whose number appears in the abstract. A trial that started after this paper was published is citing it as background, not reporting it.
Neither the registry nor the abstract names a trial number. If this is a trial report, that itself is worth knowing.

Abstract
backgroundCardiovascular parameters are critical determinants in the onset and progression of circulatory diseases, including hypertension and heart disease, which remain among the leading causes of mortality in Morocco. The aim of the present study was to investigate the association of certain cardiovascular parameters with the physical activity level (PAL) in adolescents attending school in the Wilaya of Marrakech. MATERIAL AND
methodsThe study involved 1173 schoolchildren aged 15-19 years in the city of Marrakech (urban area) and the province of Al Haouz (rural area). The survey involved individual 5-minute interviews with selected participants, covering demographics, physical activity (PA), and sedentary behavior. Blood pressure and resting heart rate (RHR) were measured using an automatic monitor with an arm cuff.
resultsRHR was lower in highly active than in less active adolescents, with boys at 72 versus 77 bpm (
conclusionPA is significantly associated with cardiovascular parameters and can help maintain cardiovascular parameters within healthy ranges. Promoting PA among teenagers remains a primary necessity to meet WHO recommendations in terms of PA and to address the adverse effects of a less active lifestyle on their health. Findings provide valuable insights into the role of PA in mitigating cardiovascular risks among this population.
