Intravitreal injection delivered volume under different environmental and training conditions.
Article in Graefe's archive for clinical and experimental ophthalmology = Albrecht von Graefes Archiv fur klinische und experimentelle Ophthalmologie, 2026. The graph could read no effect estimate from its abstract, so it casts no vote on the map. Not yet cited in PubMed.
What it found
Each row is one number read from the abstract, on the scale the paper reported it, with its interval. Left of the dashed line favours the treatment, right favours the comparator. Under each row is the sentence it came from. New to these charts? A ten-minute tutorial.
The abstract states no effect estimate the extractor could read, or names no intervention and outcome on the map, so this paper lights no cell and moves no belief. It is still indexed, cited and linked below.
The trial behind it
Trials whose registry record cites this paper, or whose number appears in the abstract. A trial that started after this paper was published is citing it as background, not reporting it.
Neither the registry nor the abstract names a trial number. If this is a trial report, that itself is worth knowing.

Abstract
purposeTo evaluate the accuracy of intravitreal injection (IVI) volumes under varying environmental conditions and operator training levels.
methodsThree syringe models (Becton-Dickinson Plastipak 1mL, Aflibercept Prefilled Syringe, and Zero Residual Silicone Oil-Free 0.2 mL) were tested with 30G needles. Distilled water was drawn against different background colors (beige, black, blue, green, and white) by a single trained operator. Later, three different operators (a medical student, an ophthalmology resident, and a vitreoretinal surgeon) performed the injections under three training conditions (no prior training, after proper training, and forced plunger depression). The 50 µl of water were expelled into Eppendorf tubes and both syringes and tubes were weighed before and after injection. The main parameters measured were the effective delivered volume and residual volume.
resultsSignificant differences were found among syringes (p < 0.001). Operator proficiency (p = 0.007) and training status (p < 0.001) also influenced volume accuracy. Post-hoc analysis revealed significant differences between clear green and black (p = 0.007), and between beige and black backgrounds (p = 0.008).
conclusionsOur study revealed significant variations in IVI volumes, influenced by syringe type, operator proficiency, and background color. These findings emphasize the need to consider materials and techniques for precision in IVI.
