Analysis of the incidence and risk factors associated with retinopathy of prematurity in patients complicated by bronchopulmonary dysplasia.
Article in Annals of medicine, 2025. The graph could read no effect estimate from its abstract, so it casts no vote on the map. Cited by 1 paper.
What it found
Each row is one number read from the abstract, on the scale the paper reported it, with its interval. Left of the dashed line favours the treatment, right favours the comparator. Under each row is the sentence it came from. New to these charts? A ten-minute tutorial.
The abstract states no effect estimate the extractor could read, or names no intervention and outcome on the map, so this paper lights no cell and moves no belief. It is still indexed, cited and linked below.
The trial behind it
Trials whose registry record cites this paper, or whose number appears in the abstract. A trial that started after this paper was published is citing it as background, not reporting it.
Neither the registry nor the abstract names a trial number. If this is a trial report, that itself is worth knowing.

Abstract
backgroundBronchopulmonary dysplasia (BPD) and retinopathy of prematurity (ROP) are common disorders in preterm infants. This study aimed to analyze the difference in the incidence of type 1 or type 2 ROP between the BPD and non-BPD groups in preterm infants of different gestational ages and birth weights, and to explore the risk factors for the combination of type 1 or type 2 ROP in infants with BPD.
methodsA retrospective analysis was performed on the clinical data of preterm infants hospitalized from January 2019 to December 2023. All preterm infants were divided into BPD and non-BPD groups based on the 2018 BPD diagnostic criteria; ROP was classified according to the Early Treatment for Retinopathy of Prematurity (ETROP).
resultsThe incidence of infant type 1 and type 2 ROP was significantly higher in the BPD group than in the non-BPD group (all
conclusionBPD has a significant impact on the occurrence of ROP. Low gestational age, low birth weight, the duration of mechanical ventilation and the number of blood transfusions within the first 28 postnatal days are all risk factors for BPD infants with combined type 1 or type 2 ROP.
