ReviewUrologie (Heidelberg, Germany)2025
[Current developments in surgery and radiotherapy for the treatment of seminoma stage IIA/B].
Review in Urologie (Heidelberg, Germany), 2025. The graph could read no effect estimate from its abstract, so it casts no vote on the map. Not yet cited in PubMed.
What it found
Each row is one number read from the abstract, on the scale the paper reported it, with its interval. Left of the dashed line favours the treatment, right favours the comparator. Under each row is the sentence it came from. New to these charts? A ten-minute tutorial.
The abstract states no effect estimate the extractor could read, or names no intervention and outcome on the map, so this paper lights no cell and moves no belief. It is still indexed, cited and linked below.
The trial behind it
Trials whose registry record cites this paper, or whose number appears in the abstract. A trial that started after this paper was published is citing it as background, not reporting it.
Neither the registry nor the abstract names a trial number. If this is a trial report, that itself is worth knowing.

Abstract
backgroundStage IIA/B seminoma is cured in over 90% of cases with standard therapies (polychemotherapy, large-volume radiotherapy). However, these treatments are associated with potential late toxicities. MATERIALS AND
methodsThis article addresses current developments from a urological-surgical and radiotherapeutic perspective in the treatment of stage IIA/B seminoma. Current study results are presented, and possible developments are outlined. RESULTS AND
conclusionRetroperitoneal lymphadenectomy (RLA) has the potential to offer a radiation- and chemotherapy-free treatment alternative. It was investigated in the recently published PRIMETEST, SEMS, and COTRIMS studies. Current clinical research focuses on the choice of template (unilateral vs. bilateral), the surgical approach (open vs. robotic), and the potential use of adjuvant chemotherapy after RLA (ongoing PRIMETEST II study). A combined, de-escalated chemoradiotherapy was evaluated in the SAKK 01/10 study and yielded very good results regarding recurrence-free survival and toxicity. Long-term results are still awaited, as are the results of the study SAKK 01/18.
