1 · What the graph read from it

What it found

Each row is one number read from the abstract, on the scale the paper reported it, with its interval. Left of the dashed line favours the treatment, right favours the comparator. Under each row is the sentence it came from. New to these charts? A ten-minute tutorial.

The abstract states no effect estimate the extractor could read, or names no intervention and outcome on the map, so this paper lights no cell and moves no belief. It is still indexed, cited and linked below.

2 · The registry

The trial behind it

Trials whose registry record cites this paper, or whose number appears in the abstract. A trial that started after this paper was published is citing it as background, not reporting it.

Neither the registry nor the abstract names a trial number. If this is a trial report, that itself is worth knowing.

Abstract

Introduction: DEP domain containing 1 (DEPDC1) has been well-known as a significant contributor to tumorigenesis and cancer progression. However, its potential oncogenic mechanism in liposarcoma is still unclear. Methods: In this study, the expression and clinical relevance of DEPDC1 in sarcoma was assessed by employing data from The Cancer Genome Atlas (TCGA) data and conducting Kaplan-Meier online analyses, respectively. Furthermore, the impact of DEPDC1 on cellular functions of liposarcoma cell lines and its underlying mechanisms were studied using the Results: Here, our findings revealed that the expression levels of DEPDC1 and KIF20A were elevated in liposarcoma compared to the paired adjacent adipose tissues, with their expression positively correlating with the malignancy of liposarcoma. Moreover, patients with high DEPDC1 or KIF20A mRNA levels experienced shorter survival times. Conclusions: In conclusion, this study suggested that DEPDC1 might interact with KIF20A to promote the occurrence and progression of liposarcoma by activating PI3K/AKT/mTOR signaling pathway.
