Does low physical activity cause cognitive decline in elderly type 2 diabetes patients: A propensity score matching analysis.
Article in World journal of diabetes, 2025. The graph could read no effect estimate from its abstract, so it casts no vote on the map. Cited by 1 paper.
What it found
Each row is one number read from the abstract, on the scale the paper reported it, with its interval. Left of the dashed line favours the treatment, right favours the comparator. Under each row is the sentence it came from. New to these charts? A ten-minute tutorial.
The abstract states no effect estimate the extractor could read, or names no intervention and outcome on the map, so this paper lights no cell and moves no belief. It is still indexed, cited and linked below.
The trial behind it
Trials whose registry record cites this paper, or whose number appears in the abstract. A trial that started after this paper was published is citing it as background, not reporting it.
Neither the registry nor the abstract names a trial number. If this is a trial report, that itself is worth knowing.

Abstract
backgroundThe relationship between low physical activity and cognitive impairment in type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) patients remains unclear.
aimTo explore this association and identify risk factors for cognitive impairment in elderly T2DM patients.
methodsA retrospective analysis was conducted on 245 elderly T2DM patients treated at Xuanwu Hospital, Beijing, in 2023. Patients were categorized into low physical activity (
resultsBefore PSM, the percentage of cognitive impairment was higher in the low physical activity group (
conclusionLow physical activity was not associated with cognitive impairment in our study population. Some results differed before and after PSM analysis, indicating that PSM supports objective assessment of risk factors by controlling for selection bias and confounding factors related to population characteristics. The constructed cognitive risk model provides insight for the development of a clinical tool for early prevention of cognitive impairment in elderly T2DM patients.
