1 · What the graph read from it

What it found

Each row is one number read from the abstract, on the scale the paper reported it, with its interval. Left of the dashed line favours the treatment, right favours the comparator. Under each row is the sentence it came from. New to these charts? A ten-minute tutorial.

The abstract states no effect estimate the extractor could read, or names no intervention and outcome on the map, so this paper lights no cell and moves no belief. It is still indexed, cited and linked below.

2 · The registry

The trial behind it

Trials whose registry record cites this paper, or whose number appears in the abstract. A trial that started after this paper was published is citing it as background, not reporting it.

Neither the registry nor the abstract names a trial number. If this is a trial report, that itself is worth knowing.

Abstract

Dipeptidyl peptidase III (DPP III) is a zinc-dependent enzyme that hydrolyses biologically active peptides by cleaving dipeptides from their amino terminus. While the fundamental role of this metallopeptidase remains incompletely understood, human DPP III (hDPP III) has been linked to several pathophysiological processes relevant to drug development. In this study, thirty-six amidino-substituted benzimidazole derivatives, including seven newly synthesized compounds, were examined for their activity against hDPP III by combining in vitro tests, in silico quantitative structure-activity relationship (QSAR) modelling, and molecular docking approaches. The experiments demonstrate that all compounds display inhibitory activity at a 30 µM concentration. A biochemical assay revealed that 2,2'-bithiophene, 4-trifluoromethylphenyl, 4-(
