In one paragraph

Trial report in Nutrients, 2024. The graph could read no effect estimate from its abstract, so it casts no vote on the map. It is linked to trial NCT05845411 (Impact of a Nutritional Intervention Based on Mindful Eating on the Eating Behavior of Individuals Living With Overweight and Obesity), which is not on this map. Cited by 3 papers, 1 of them a synthesis that pooled it.

1 · What the graph read from it

What it found

Each row is one number read from the abstract, on the scale the paper reported it, with its interval. Left of the dashed line favours the treatment, right favours the comparator. Under each row is the sentence it came from. New to these charts? A ten-minute tutorial.

The abstract states no effect estimate the extractor could read, or names no intervention and outcome on the map, so this paper lights no cell and moves no belief. It is still indexed, cited and linked below.

2 · The registry

The trial behind it

Trials whose registry record cites this paper, or whose number appears in the abstract. A trial that started after this paper was published is citing it as background, not reporting it.

Abstract

objectivesThis study aimed to evaluate the effect of a counseling approach based on Mindful Eating on the eating behavior of individuals living with overweight and obesity.

methodsA 16-week randomized clinical trial was conducted to compare an online group intervention (IG) with individual online nutritional counseling (TAU). Volunteers (

resultsAt baseline, the eating behavior domain with the highest mean score was emotional eating (EE) in both groups. At the end of the study, all domains decreased, while an increase in cognitive restraint (CR) was observed in the TAU group, showing a difference between the groups (-23.1; 95%CI -37.7 to -8.5;

conclusionsA Mindful Eating approach may aid in managing dysfunctional cognitive restraint, a key component for sustainable excess weight treatment. The protocol can be found on ClinicalTrials.gov (NCT05845411).
