The study findings demonstrated a significant association between C-reactive protein levels and trabecular bone score : NHANES 2005-2008.
Article in Journal of orthopaedic surgery and research, 2024. The graph could read no effect estimate from its abstract, so it casts no vote on the map. Cited by 1 paper.
What it found
Each row is one number read from the abstract, on the scale the paper reported it, with its interval. Left of the dashed line favours the treatment, right favours the comparator. Under each row is the sentence it came from. New to these charts? A ten-minute tutorial.
The abstract states no effect estimate the extractor could read, or names no intervention and outcome on the map, so this paper lights no cell and moves no belief. It is still indexed, cited and linked below.
The trial behind it
Trials whose registry record cites this paper, or whose number appears in the abstract. A trial that started after this paper was published is citing it as background, not reporting it.
Neither the registry nor the abstract names a trial number. If this is a trial report, that itself is worth knowing.

Abstract
objectivesThe association between C-reactive protein and bone density has been primarily investigated in previous studies, with little to no research investigating its relationship with total bone trabecular score.
methodsData from the NHANES database (500 males and 633 females) were utilized in this study to perform a multiple weighted linear regression analysis to estimate this relationship of CRP and TBS. Subsequently, population characterization, univariate logistic regression analysis, subgroup and interaction analysis were in progress.
resultsUpon covariate adjustment, the analysis revealed a notable negative correlation between CRP and TBS(β=-0.0081,95% CI (-0.0142, -0.0019), P = 0.009). Furthermore, no interactions were detected within any subgroups.
conclusionThis finding enhances our comprehension of the relationship in inflammation and bone health, offering the novel research outlook for the treatment and prevention of osteoporosis and osteoporotic fractures.
