1 · What the graph read from it

What it found

Each row is one number read from the abstract, on the scale the paper reported it, with its interval. Left of the dashed line favours the treatment, right favours the comparator. Under each row is the sentence it came from. New to these charts? A ten-minute tutorial.

The abstract states no effect estimate the extractor could read, or names no intervention and outcome on the map, so this paper lights no cell and moves no belief. It is still indexed, cited and linked below.

2 · The registry

The trial behind it

Trials whose registry record cites this paper, or whose number appears in the abstract. A trial that started after this paper was published is citing it as background, not reporting it.

Neither the registry nor the abstract names a trial number. If this is a trial report, that itself is worth knowing.

Abstract

Heat-shock proteins (HSPs) are stress-responsive molecules belonging to the family of evolutionary molecular chaperones known to be crucial in many cancer types, including human alveolar adenocarcinoma cells (A549). These proteins are highly overexpressed in cancers to support their ability to accommodate imbalances in cell signalling, DNA alterations, proteins, and energy metabolism associated with oncogenesis. The current study evaluated the effects of gold nanoparticles (AuNPs) combined with cisplatin (CDDP) on molecular chaperone HSPs in A549 cells. It was found that AuNPs:CDDP decreased the percentage of cell viability (38.5%) measured using the modified lactated dehydrogenase (mLDH) and 3-[4,5-dimethylthiazole-2-yl]-2,5-diphenyltetrazolium bromide (MTT) assays. AuNPs:CDDP exposure caused a significant (
