1 · What the graph read from it

What it found

Each row is one number read from the abstract, on the scale the paper reported it, with its interval. Left of the dashed line favours the treatment, right favours the comparator. Under each row is the sentence it came from. New to these charts? A ten-minute tutorial.

The abstract states no effect estimate the extractor could read, or names no intervention and outcome on the map, so this paper lights no cell and moves no belief. It is still indexed, cited and linked below.

2 · The registry

The trial behind it

Trials whose registry record cites this paper, or whose number appears in the abstract. A trial that started after this paper was published is citing it as background, not reporting it.

Neither the registry nor the abstract names a trial number. If this is a trial report, that itself is worth knowing.

Abstract

The relationship between a pro-inflammatory diet, assessed by the dietary inflammatory index (DII), and allergic diseases has attracted attention. However, the association between DII and immunoglobulin E (IgE) remains uncertain. We aim to investigate the association between energy-adjusted DII (E-DII) and total IgE. We analyzed data from the 2005 to 2006 National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey. The relationship between E-DII and total IgE was assessed using linear regression and logistic regression analysis. Meanwhile, we conducted a subgroup analysis stratified by body mass index (BMI) and analyzed the mediating role of BMI. We included 3614 adult participants. After controlling for confounding factors, there was no statistical association between E-DII and total IgE (
