PD-1 signaling in neonates restrains CD8
Article in Mucosal immunology, 2024. The graph could read no effect estimate from its abstract, so it casts no vote on the map. Cited by 7 papers.
What it found
Each row is one number read from the abstract, on the scale the paper reported it, with its interval. Left of the dashed line favours the treatment, right favours the comparator. Under each row is the sentence it came from. New to these charts? A ten-minute tutorial.
The abstract states no effect estimate the extractor could read, or names no intervention and outcome on the map, so this paper lights no cell and moves no belief. It is still indexed, cited and linked below.
The trial behind it
Trials whose registry record cites this paper, or whose number appears in the abstract. A trial that started after this paper was published is citing it as background, not reporting it.
Neither the registry nor the abstract names a trial number. If this is a trial report, that itself is worth knowing.

Abstract
Respiratory viral infections, including human metapneumovirus (HMPV), remain a leading cause of morbidity and mortality in neonates and infants. However, the mechanisms behind the increased sensitivity to those respiratory viral infections in neonates are poorly understood. Neonates, unlike adults, have several anti-inflammatory mechanisms in the lung, including elevated baseline expression of programmed death ligand 1 (PD-L1), a ligand for the inhibitory receptor programmed cell death protein 1 (PD-1). We thus hypothesized that neonates would rely on PD-1:PD-L1 signaling to restrain antiviral CD8 responses. To test this, we developed a neonatal primary HMPV infection model using wild-type C57BL/6 (B6) and Pdcd1
