The impact of frailty on in-hospital complications in elderly patients with acute coronary syndrome.
Article in Journal of geriatric cardiology : JGC, 2023. The graph could read no effect estimate from its abstract, so it casts no vote on the map. Cited by 7 papers, 1 of them a synthesis that pooled it.
What it found
Each row is one number read from the abstract, on the scale the paper reported it, with its interval. Left of the dashed line favours the treatment, right favours the comparator. Under each row is the sentence it came from. New to these charts? A ten-minute tutorial.
The abstract states no effect estimate the extractor could read, or names no intervention and outcome on the map, so this paper lights no cell and moves no belief. It is still indexed, cited and linked below.
The trial behind it
Trials whose registry record cites this paper, or whose number appears in the abstract. A trial that started after this paper was published is citing it as background, not reporting it.
Neither the registry nor the abstract names a trial number. If this is a trial report, that itself is worth knowing.

Abstract
backgroundAcute coronary syndrome (ACS) is linked to a range of in-hospital complications, and age is recognized as risk factor for adverse events. Discrepancies between physiological and chronological age are explained by frailty. However, the relationship between frailty and in-hospital complications is not clear.
methodsAssessment of frailty in patients was carried out using the FRAIL scale. In-hospital complications assessed included, bleeding, infection, arrhythmia, acute kidney injury (AKI), delirium, stroke/transient ischemic attack (TIA), liver injury, hypoglycemia, length of stay in the cardiac care unit (CCU).
resultsOf the 174 patients, frailty was identified in 39.1% and pre-frailty in 29.9%. Frailty was associated with a higher incidence of all types of bleeding (frail
conclusionsFrailty was associated with an increased risk of numerous in-hospital complications in elderly patients who had been hospitalized with ACS.
