1 · What the graph read from it

What it found

Each row is one number read from the abstract, on the scale the paper reported it, with its interval. Left of the dashed line favours the treatment, right favours the comparator. Under each row is the sentence it came from. New to these charts? A ten-minute tutorial.

The abstract states no effect estimate the extractor could read, or names no intervention and outcome on the map, so this paper lights no cell and moves no belief. It is still indexed, cited and linked below.

2 · The registry

The trial behind it

Trials whose registry record cites this paper, or whose number appears in the abstract. A trial that started after this paper was published is citing it as background, not reporting it.

Neither the registry nor the abstract names a trial number. If this is a trial report, that itself is worth knowing.

Abstract

The clinicopathological presentation of early-stage lung adenocarcinoma patients with epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) mutations has been seldom studied. Our study enrolled patients with stage I and II lung adenocarcinoma between January 2014 and December 2017 at the National Taiwan University Hospital. Clinicopathological features and prognosis were retrospectively reviewed and analyzed depending on EGFR mutation status. EGFR mutations were detected in 622 (60%) out of 1034 patients. Compared to the group without EGFR mutations, the group with EGFR mutations had more patients above 65 years of age (
